Remember Katie Hill? She was the first-term Democrat who was forced to resign after inappropriate pictures came out.
There was a special election to fill her seat and a Republican took it, flipping the district back to red.
In this election, Democrats were determined to oust this conservative and rub it in the GOP’s face.
But it looks like their hopes were dashed, again:
Democrat Christy Smith conceded Monday in a knife-edged loss to Republican rival Mike Garcia, who retained his congressional seat in the 25th District north of Los Angeles…
Garcia won the vacant swing district in a May special election following the resignation of Rep. Katie Hill in 2019. Hill stepped down after acknowledging an affair with a campaign worker, but has since launched a political podcast and will turn her memoir into a film.
After dragging out the counting process, Garcia’s rival finally conceded, giving the Republican a re-election win.
Throughout the 2020 election, we’ve seen Republicans defy the odds and beat pollsters’ predictions.
Democrats have lost key seats in the House. Republicans have only expanded their influence.
Wasn’t it supposed to be the opposite? I thought Americans were ready for far-left extremism, anti-cop politics, and Democrats that have more in common with Stalin than with Washington?
The election results haven’t turned out that way.
Democrats have faced one setback after another, watching their influence in government erode.
Perhaps it has something to do with how they’ve conducted themselves this year? Democrats have forced lockdowns, applauded riots, condemned cops, and refused to cooperate.
Even in Los Angeles, voters were chiming for a change. Can’t say we blame them.
Do you think Democrats should be in control of our government?
